How to Keep Your Toothbrush Clean

Introduction

Your toothbrush keeps your teeth clean, but what are some ways you can keep your toothbrush clean?

Bacteria are all around our mouths and bodies, and some are good and some are bad. Too much of the bad kind of bacteria can make our mouths and bodies sick.

In this video, learn about four things you can do to keep your toothbrush clean and minimize the amount of bad bacteria while your toothbrush is being kept in the bathroom.

By 1) rinsing your toothbrush with tap water before and after brushing, 2) keeping your toothbrush sitting upright in a holder, allowing it to air dry in the open to avoid additional bacteria growth and 3) keeping the toothbrush at least six feet away from the toilet, you should be effectively keeping your toothbrush clean, and by extension keeping your mouth clean as well.

Also be sure to keep your toothbrush from touching another toothbrush, avoid leaving it to dry in a drawer or a case and make sure to shut the lid of the toilet before flushing to keep additional bacteria away from this important cleaning tool.

Follow these tips twice a day, each time you brush your teeth, so that extra bacteria doesn’t enter your mouth.

A clean, bad-bacteria free toothbrush means having a clean, healthy mouth. Maintain that with your good oral health routine as well as having the proper, well-taken-care-of materials.
