Here are some hand guides and worksheets to download and explore at home, or in the classroom! Check out this worksheet to see how your mouth is always fighting off gross germs and bacteria. Use the tips provided to learn what common things you do harm your teeth and what small fixes you can make to keep your teeth clean.
Instead of sharing food with the same utensil, take measures to avoid the transmission of bacteria by making sure that nothing is passed from mouth to mouth when sharing food, taking care not to share forks, spoons, and other utensils. Brush your teeth twice a day, floss, eat healthy, and visit the dentist to make sure that foods that can break down your teeth have lesser impact. After eating foods that leave a lingering smell, make sure to brush your teeth and even your tongue with fluoride toothpaste to get rid of the bad taste left over from bits of that food getting stuck in your teeth. Flossing can also help with this by getting the debris that your toothbrush can’t reach out from between your teeth. Ensure that your teeth are healthy, clean, and fresh with the previous information so that you can show off your healthy smile. Then, use the coloring page to get creative and draw what you believe a “gross” mouth would look like while continuing to keep your mouth clean.
Refer to the discussion questions to talk about whether germs can be spread by sharing forks and spoons, how you can defeat bacteria, and whether you brush your tongue when you brush your teeth.
Make the effort to take care of your oral health so that your mouth isn’t gross like the coloring page you make to look like a gross mouth. Do your best to keep your mouth cool and clean!
