Brushing our teeth every day is very important, but so is flossing! In this video, a registered dental hygienist will talk about why flossing is so important and the different techniques and products you can use to keep your teeth plaque-free and prevent teeth diseases.
Learn how to protect your mouth from bacteria that lurks below the gum line and between the teeth that can’t be reached with a toothbrush. Discover the proper technique to use floss by wrapping the floss around your fingers and moving the floss between your teeth in a sawing motion making a C shape around the tooth instead of just moving the floss up and down. Floss picks can be just as effective and easier for children to direct, so they can use these and use the same techniques as using regular floss. Or, consider using an equally effective irrigation device to flush the bacteria and debris out from between your teeth. Angle this device towards your gums and bring it all around the tooth. Use one of these methods so that you can get bacteria that hides under the gum line that your toothbrush can’t access.
Integrate flossing into your daily routine so that you can achieve peak wellness in both your mouth and your body. It’s just a few minutes every day that could completely change your oral health for the better. Having healthy gums means having a healthy body!
