Toothbrush Wreath

What can you do with a toothbrush you’re no longer using? Luckily there are many DIY crafts and activities that use old toothbrushes. In this video, kids will learn how to recycle their old toothbrushes to make a decorative wreath they can hang in their room, their school, or anywhere that could use a little decoration! Take toothbrushes that you are no longer using and attach them to a styrofoam ring with tape or hot glue to make a wreath documenting your oral hygiene journey and giving the old toothbrushes a use in this toothbrush wreath craft.

Toothbrushes should be replaced every few months, about every three to four months, or even earlier when the bristles of the toothbrush are frayed and bent. The deterioration of the bristles makes brushing your teeth less effective, and toothbrushes should be replaced due to the buildup of bacteria that occurs from brushing your teeth. You should also replace your toothbrush after you’ve been sick so the bristles don’t harbor the bacteria present in your body after you’ve recovered. In order to keep your toothbrush as clean and usable as possible, keep it at least six feet away from the toilet, and close the lid of the toilet when you flush. This keeps your toothbrush safe from the bacteria of the environment in the bathroom.

Use these tips to keep your mouth clean by learning when you should dispose of your toothbrush and how to keep it bacteria free! Then, use your discarded toothbrushes to partake in this fun toothbrush wreath craft! Be creative and have a healthy smile.
