Sensational Smiles | Dental Worksheet

It is recommended that you brush your teeth twice a day and floss at least once a day. But when you’re new to taking care of your teeth, that can be difficult to manage. Use this dental worksheet to learn how to properly brush and floss your teeth to make sure that you can have a sensational smile!

To brush your teeth in the morning and night, put a small amount of fluoride toothpaste on your toothbrush. Move the toothbrush in small circles along where your teeth and gums meet. Do this for two minutes, making sure to get the front, back, and top of your teeth. After brushing your teeth, also make sure to brush your tongue.

When you floss, pull out a foot of floss, wrapping each end around your pointer fingers on each hand. Pull it tight and guide the piece of floss between your teeth, rubbing gently up and down between your teeth to remove the food and plaque stuck there. Do this between all of your teeth to keep them all clean.

You should get a new toothbrush about every 3 months, or when the bristles begin to fray. Children under 8 should receive assistance with brushing their teeth, as they are too young to have the dexterity required to effectively brush their teeth. In addition to brushing and flossing, you should also use a mouthwash every day to further clean your teeth.
