Three Halloween Treats Your Kids Can Make

Halloween is one of the scariest times of year for teeth. Thanks to trick-or-treating and spooky parties, many children (and adults) indulge in candy more often than usual in October. In this video, you’ll learn how to make three Halloween treats that are not scary for your smile.

Make treats that are healthy and fun to make like the wise owl snack made up of carrots, bananas, cheerios, rice cakes, peanut butter, and apple slices. Spread peanut butter onto a rice cake and place apple slices on to act as wings, a piece of carrot to act as the nose, banana and blueberry as eyes, and cheerios as feathers. Also try the Frankenstein snack made up of green grapes, clear solo cups, black marker, rice cakes, and googly eyes. Place green grapes into a clear solo cup and decorate the cup to make it look like Frankenstein. You can also make jack-o-lantern snacks from mandarin orange or peach cups, orange cuties, and black marker. Have kids draw on the peel of an orange cutie to make it look like a jack-o-lantern and then do the same on the cup of orange or peach.

Use the first resource to learn how you can have yummy pumpkin seeds as a snack by tossing them in oil and salt and baking them at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for forty five minutes. Use the second resource to make things like Frankenguac, a fun but healthy guacamole dish assembled to look like Frankenstein, witch’s brooms, pretzels and string cheese made to look like brooms, monster teeth, scary sets of teeth made out of apples, peanut butter, and yogurt covered raisins, and finally, strawberry ghosts, which are strawberries dipped in white chocolate and decorated with chocolate chips to appear like a ghost.
